New York City: Little Oyster Sandwich at The Dutch
Though only about 2 bites tops, this little sandwich packed some seriously great flavor. The fried oyster gave it just the right amount of sea taste, and not too much of the fried taste. The textures were all perfect, and I’m not sure what the sauce was but it gave the sandwich great spice. Would love a full size version of this one!
New York City: Three Cheese Grilled Cheese from Milk Truck
This is rivaling Grahamwich in Chicago for the best grilled cheese I have ever had! The bread, which was rosemary pullman from Blue Ribbon Bakery, was crisped to buttery perfection and the rosemary was subtle but really nice. Then inside you have aged Gruyere, aged NY cheddar, Wisconsin blue, and caramelized granny smith apples. The nutty Gruyere and tangy blue were balanced well with the rich cheddar and sweet apple. A MUST try!
New York City: Steamed Pork Buns at Momofuku Noodle Bar
This is borderline not a sandwich to me but most people consider it to be, and since it tasted so good I decided I had to include it! Biting into this is like biting into a cloud. A delicious warm cloud stuff with roasted pork belly. This is a NYC must have!
New York City: Mallorquin at Despana
This sandwich had a chorizo spread, pressed and drizzled with warm honey. At first the sweet/savory combo was nice, but after a few bites the spice of the chorizo with it became a little odd.

New York City: Prosciutto Sandwich at The Little Sweet Cafe
Inside this little side street french cafe that is easy to miss, are some great sandwiches. What could have been a very basic thing, was made great by a unique choice of bread. This was a turkish bread I was told, that was just flaky and melt away perfect. The pesto was very good and the whole thing had just the right portions of mozzarella and prosciutto.
New York City: Secret Burger at Peels
So glad the waitress told me about this one! The very juicy burger was on a roll with an onion ring inside it, dripping with creamy pimento cheese, topped with bacon, and given a great spice from pickled jalapeño and red-onion slaw. Definitely ask for this when you’re there!
New York City: French Picnic at Barnyard
This is a sandwich type I order often from places like Bierkraft and BKLN Larder, so I was a bit disappointed when I had the Barnyard version here. The baguette was wonderfully crispy, but the the pickles were dry and they used butter instead of spicy mustard so it lacked that nice kick.
