A very different grilled cheese than the usual savory ones I find! Nice and delicious combination of sweet and tangy but ultimately not very filling.

Austin, TX: Buttery Pimento at W Hotel

The pimento was a little too creamy for my taste since I grew up with a different type of pimento cheese being made. As the name says though, the bread was definitely very buttery and crisp!

Los Angeles: Grilled Cheese at the Soho House

This grilled cheese was absolutely delicious, though a bit of a stretch to call it a grilled cheese since the majority of it was made up of tasty braised short ribs. The very buttery and rich thick cut bread was honestly my favorite part actually!

New York City: Vermont Cheddar Sandwich at Silver Moon Bakery

Good quality cheddar went very well with the rye and mustard. The cucumber and lettuce added a nice crunch but the sandwich was missing something overall. Also, being premade the bread was a bit soggy.

Very earthy flavor from the clothbound cheddar cheese mixed well with the sweetness of the chutney. The bread was nice and soft, and when you add cornichons I’m always happy!

New York City: Three Cheese Grilled Cheese from Milk Truck

This is rivaling Grahamwich in Chicago for the best grilled cheese I have ever had! The bread, which was rosemary pullman from Blue Ribbon Bakery, was crisped to buttery perfection and the rosemary was subtle but really nice. Then inside you have aged Gruyere, aged NY cheddar, Wisconsin blue, and caramelized granny smith apples. The nutty Gruyere and tangy blue were balanced well with the rich cheddar and sweet apple. A MUST try!

New York City: Grass Fed Burger at Back Forty

The bread was a weak point on this burger, but the patty was juicy and cooked well. The farmhouse cheddar has a nice nutty flavor to it, and the bacon was wonderfully thick and melt away in your mouth!

Really tasty thick chorizo sausage, complimented very well by the nutty manchego cheese. Good crunchy bread also! A lot to try on the menu at this place.

New York City: The Figgy Piggy at Barnyard

This sandwich was a perfect creation. The bread was super soft, and the salty sweet combo of the honey fig jam and prosciutto blended just right with the goat cheese. Every bite just melted away. Highly recommended!

New York City: Chargrilled Burger with Roquefort at The Spotted Pig

Much has been said about this burger and restaurant, so I finally made it over to eat this iconic sandwich. The burger meat itself was probably the best cooked burger I have ever had. Nice and juicy, tender, and just fell apart when you ate it. The Roquefort cheese gave it all a nice saltiness, along with the good char on the bread. This one has earned its reputation!

Tannersville, NY: Let’s Vegetate at Krooked Cafe

This was a grilled cheese absolutely stuffed with sautéed vegetables. Great flavors, maybe cumin, not sure but it all blended so well together. If you’re ever in Tannersville check this place out!

This was a delicious take on the cuban, with gruyere and sharp cheddar for the cheese, and the usual smoked pork but with some prosciutto added. Nice little cafe!
